Holy Martyr Terence and his Companions
(Feast Days - October 28, March 13 & April 10)
Verses
For October 28.
To Terence.
Terence was beheaded, and having gushed forth milk, Showed a new and maimed wonder.
To Africanus, Maximus and Pompeius.
Indifferent worshipers of demons beheaded, Three worshipers of the Trinity by the sword.
To the Thirty-Six.*
For March 13.**
To Africanus, Pompeius and Terence.
Three martyrs together, were crowned through the sword, Crowned with as many needed iambic crowns.
For April 5.
To Pompeius.
As a living sheep of the Lord Pompeius, You pour forth milk from your neck by the sword.
To Zenon.
Zenon was a triple athlete with pitch, fire and a spear, Suffering these things for the Trinity.
To Maximus and Terence.
Equally sharing and being crowned in the end, Terence and Maximus met their end by decapitation.
For April 10.***
To Terence.
What is the advantage of your beheading Terence? To have not the face or heart turned away.
To the Rest.
We have seen a great number of athletes beheaded, Four times ten, and much more.
On the tenth Terence was severed at the neck.
