Synaxarion of Saint Lampados the Wonderworker of Irenopolis (+ 10th cent.)

Verses
With a lamp of oil and water Lampados,
You approached the bridal-chamber prepared.
From a young age this Saint gave himself over to the ascetic life, and through temperance and meticulous prayer, he cast out of his soul the mind of the flesh.
St. Lampados of Irenopolis (Feast Day - July 5)
Thus he shined as the radiant sun, and illumined those who were darkened by their passions and the wiles of the demons. And not only did he work extraordinary miracles in this present life, but after he departed to the Lord, he gushes forth an ever-flowing amount of miracles and healings to those who hasten to him with faith. These words can be confirmed at his cave, where his honorable relics can be found.*

Notes:
* Not much else is known about Saint Lambados besides what is written here, though in Slavic sources it has been preserved that he lived and was entombed at Irenopolis of Isauria at around the tenth century.
Apolytikion in the Fourth Tone
From childhood you bore, a life equal to the angels, your works shined, giving forth a radiant character, revealing your perfection; by your dispassion, you gained brightness, unbinding the passions of the night, God-bearing Lampados, of those who approach you with longing, Father, by your intercessions.
Kontakion in the Fourth Tone
As a lamp you shined in asceticism, blessed Lampados, granting light to all those, who with praise cry out: Rejoice Venerable One, divinely-inspired ornament.
Megalynarion
Shining in the world through your virtues, you unbind the corruptions of the soul, and the illnesses of the darkness, and as one who gives forth light, with the light that shines from above, O Lampados do guide, our lives towards excellence.
