Ten tracks from the Vigil service of the Feast Day of St. Catherine, recorded live in December 1995 at St. Catherine's Greek Orthodox Monastery on Mt. Sinai. Sung by the monks of St. Catherine's with Patriarch Damianos and Metropolitan Palladius, celebrants.

This recording from St. Catherine's is unique in that this monastery isn't among those who regularly produce chant recordings and it isn't on the beaten tourist path, so this recording is a real gem for those who appreciate monastic chanting. The CD begins with the "Oh Gladsome Light", and includes the principal hymns of the feast of the Great Martyr St. Catherine. The recording quality is intimate and remarkably clear for a live and low-budget project. The hymns are beautiful and heartfelt and a tangible sense of worship is conveyed powerfully on this CD. It is rendered in Greek.
